Free Reiki sessions at Checkpoint Genève 🌈

Since January 2025, I’ve been volunteering once a month at Checkpoint Genève (a Dialogai service), a health space dedicated to the LGBTQIA+ community. I offer free, confidential, one-on-one Reiki sessions there.

A moment to reconnect with yourself

Reiki is a gentle energy-based practice that helps ease stress, improve sleep, and bring back inner clarity. During these free sessions, I welcome you with care and openness, in a safe environment.

No prior experience is needed — just come as you are.

How can you access a session?

  • 📍 Where? Checkpoint Genève – Rue de Lausanne 54, 1201 Geneva

Why I offer these free Reiki sessions

Détail de la décoration du cabinet favorisant une ambiance apaisante.

I’ve often noticed that access to care for the body and mind can be difficult for LGBTQIA+ people, particularly when carrying the effects of past trauma, discrimination, or rejection.

My involvement at Checkpoint Genève is a way to help create a space of wellbeing, safety, and unconditional welcome for everyone, whatever their story or identity.

Offering these sessions is a way of reaching out to those who have sometimes waited too long before taking care of themselves — because they weren’t given the space to, or didn’t feel it was their place.

I believe that Reiki, through its gentleness and attentiveness, can be genuine support on the path to reconnecting with yourself, respecting your own pace, and rebuilding confidence.

Why Dialogai? Since I started this work, I’ve wanted Reiki to be accessible to people who might never otherwise walk through the door of a practice. When we first discussed this collaboration with Dialogai, it made complete sense to me. LGBTIQ+ people sometimes go through periods of stress, isolation, or self-questioning that can significantly affect their wellbeing. Offering sessions at Checkpoint Genève is, for me, a way to make wellbeing more accessible, in a place that’s already familiar, safe, and welcoming. I also appreciate being able to work alongside committed professionals who support people with respect for their history and their journey.

Why offer these sessions? Reiki isn’t here to solve every problem in life. What it can offer, though, is a moment where there’s nothing to prove and nothing to achieve — simply the chance to slow down.

I often notice that many people live with a very high level of stress without necessarily realising it. Offering a session gives them a bit of inner space back, helps release tension, and sometimes simply allows them to breathe.

Offering these sessions on a volunteer basis is also a way of making this kind of support accessible to people who might not have the means, or wouldn’t necessarily think, to book a session at a private practice.

Why is stress so common among LGBTIQ+ people? Like everyone else, LGBTIQ+ people can face everyday stress. But they’re also sometimes exposed to additional challenges: fear of rejection, discrimination, coming out, isolation, violence, or experiences of stigma.

Even when these events belong to the past, the body can remain in a heightened state of alertness. This build-up of tension can affect sleep, cause fatigue, increase anxiety, or make it harder to relax.

Reiki doesn’t claim to make these difficulties disappear, but it can offer a space where the body and nervous system finally get the chance to slow down, ease that constant state of alertness a little, and rediscover a sense of safety.
